The Whirlpool WP3403607 Dryer Thermal Limiter interrupts electrical power to the heating circuit when appliance temperature rises beyond its specified limit. It is fitted within the dryer's airflow or heating area, where it senses excessive heat generated around the heating system. Under normal conditions, current passes through the limiter to support heater operation, but excessive temperature causes the internal thermal element to open the circuit. This interruption prevents continued heating when an unsafe temperature condition occurs. The limiter so it provides temperature-based protection for the dryer heating circuit and allows it to prevent overheating of surrounding components.
