The Whirlpool WP339956 Dryer Lint Foam Seal blocks gaps in the air flow to assists keep lint from bypassing and to keep it flowing properly while it is running. It is placed around the filter housing or internal duct to create a compressible barrier that allows directing through the screen and into the exhaust system. It is used in the system which is used to capture the lint efficiently, contain the accumulation of lint in the cabinet and maintain the drying efficiency. It is intended to ensure that it is sealed and that airflow is controlled properly.
