Placed behind the exterior paddle housing inside the door dispenser recess, this coiled steel part compresses when a container presses the lever backward. The user reduces pressure, the stored kinetic energy releases, forcing the paddle forward into its baseline stance to close internal microswitches and stop cube distribution immediately. This rapid retraction prevents ice from continuously flowing into the dispenser chute, eliminating blockage and maintaining proper external door seals.
