It is positioned near the evaporator coil the thermal heating element converts electrical energy into heat that melts preserved ice. The thermostat senses the surrounding temperature and controls the heater circuit according to the set thermal limits. This assembly connects to the refrigerator wiring and defrost control system for coordinated operation. The heater switches off, melted frost drains through the designated outlet, and the evaporator returns to normal cooling operation.
