The LG 4769DD2001A Dishwasher Float Assembly is intended as an overflow prevention mechanism that monitors the internal fluid level inside the washing basin. Floating upward on the surface as water enters the tub, this molded plastic cylinder rises toward a microswitch positioned beneath the base liner. When the liquid reaches the maximum optimum operational depth, the rising float trips the electrical contact to stop the inlet valve from supplying more water. This floating indicator keeps water levels balanced, preventing overfilling to prevent leaks in the surrounding kitchen area.
